Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly change the specifec charactreristics of a beam into a sound beam by an apparatus which is constructed to permit free horizontal/vertical hold, turning or rotation, position or horizontal distance and beam incidence point or eccentricity. CONSTITUTION:A probe 23 is attached to the lower end of a holder. A suspended type housing 1 is provided at its upper end with a suspender and at its lower end with a probe shoe 2, and accomodates an internal frame 7 which is provided with a slide rod 12 extending in the back and forth direction. The above-mentioned holder 13 is supported by the slide rod 12. The holder 13 itself is able to turn or rotate by means of a worm wheel 15 and a worm gear 15' of a turning shaft meshing with the worm wheel 15, while the inner frame 7 is rockable around a pivot shaft. The holder 13 itself is vertically movable by means of a hand nut 19. In order to obtain an eccentricity for the optimum flaw detection sensitivity, the adjusting knob 14' of an eccentricity adjusting shaft 14 is suitably rotated to slide the holder 13 back and forth along the slide shaft 12.
