Abstract

PURPOSE: To form high contrast latent images, by injecting charge from a specified charge supply layer provided between a substrate and a photoconductive layer in electrophotography charging an interlayer between the photoconductive layer and an insulating layer.
CONSTITUTION: A photoconductive layer made by dispersing polyvinylcarbazole, selenium, or the like in a binder resin and an insulating layer like polyethlene- terephthalate film are laminated on a substrate of a metallic plate, a resin film, or the like to form an electrophotographic photoreceptor. An Al, Ga, or another IIIb group element-doped semiconductor powder of a cadmium chalcogenide type is dispersed in a binder resin to form a charge supply layer having about 10-11 ohm.cm or less electric resistivity and about 1W30μ thickness, and this layer is disposed between the substrate and the photoconductive layer. The amount of the above IIIb group elements to be doped is preferably about 1W20×10-3 mole per mole of photoconductive material.
