Abstract

PURPOSE:The titled apparatus which can perform the fast wiping for forming uniform thin coating, by installing one or more gas cushion portions so as to face against the sheet to be treated, from upside of the blowing hole of the gas wiping nozzle installed facing against the surface of sheet to be treated. CONSTITUTION:The blowing gas is introduced from the unillustrated supply source into the pressure accumulating chamber 9 installed in the main body 8; this blowing gas is blown out from the gas blowing hole 10 against the surface of sheet to be plated, and is discharged downward passing through the gap between the surface of plating and the wiping bar 12. Hereupon, the wiping portion displaces the molten plating metal 5', bulging from the surface of plating bath depending on the travel of plated metal, forcing by the blowing pressure; hereby, the aimed plating thickness is obtained. In the meantime, a part of gas, blowing upward from the wiping portion, passes through the gas cushion portion 11 sectioned by multistage throttle portion 15, gradually reduces the pressure, and is discharged into the atmospheric air. According to this constitution, the pass line of the plated sheet can be stabilized, and also, the gas pressure at the wiping portion 18 can be maintained high.
