Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a compact-sized device with constantly uniform conditions of cooling by providing a self-rotating rotary nozzle by cooling medium without an outer rotating unit.
CONSTITUTION: The cooling water fed from a water source is conducted through a feed pipe 2 to be introduced into a water passage A in a nozzle body 6 through an injection hole 4, and further injected to the inside of a steel pipe 1 from a slit- shaped injection port B as an arrow shows. In this case, the cooling water from the injection port 4 is dashed to a runner 8 in the nozzle body 6, which is given rotations by that energy. Consequently, by the rotation of the nozzle body 6, the cooling water injected from the injection port B is dashed to the inside of the steel pipe 1 with uniform circumferential pressures for attaining uniform cooling. Even if the cooling water is partly intercepted by the choking of the nozzle, cooling areas can be given uniformly to the cooling surface of the steel pipe 1.
