Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove a state of the motor being short of torque and saturation due to DC excitation in the transformer, by means of bypassing a boosting transformer, when at low speed, to directly apply an output of power inverter to the motor.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic contactor 14, installed between a three-phase bridge power inverter 5 and a primary winding 12 of a boosting transformer 6, and an electromagnetic contactor 15, with a bypass circuit 40 installed for directly making a connection between the power inverter 5 and armature winding 8 of a motor 7 without routing through the boosting transformer 6, are provided. By a switching operation of those of the above electromagnetic contactors, an output of control pole-provided electric valve controller will be applied to the armature winding not through the boosting transformer when in a low speed operation of the motor at low voltage and low frequency, further with the control circuit made working a relating operation. In this way, a torque shortage of the motor, coming from a poor transformer operation at the time of low speed running, and a state of saturation, due to a DC excitation of the transformer, can be eliminated.
