Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible always accurate measurement of surface temperatures by shielding radiation energies from furnace walls and heating source which become disturbances and measuring the emissivity of the measuring object as well. CONSTITUTION:Radiation energies of a black body radiation source 2 through an opening 21 are condensed and projected by a lens 3 to the surface 11 of a meausuring steel plate 1 with a certain angle to its normal N. A radiation thermometer 4 is installed in the direction of an angle theta to the normal N and the black body radiation source 2 is provided in the direction being mirror-face symmetrical to the radiation thermometer 4, i.e., in the position of the angle theta with respect to the normal N. If the wavelength of the detection radiations of the thermometer 4 is so selected that the steel plate 1 sufficiently has mirror-facelike reflection characteristics, then the radiation energies incident to the thermometer 4 are only those from the radiation source 2 and the measuring steel plate. The radiation energies from the furnace walls and furnace heating source are shielded by the radiation source 2 and disturbances are completely eliminated. By changing the temperature of the radiation source 2 and operating by using the outputs of the thermometer corresponding the reto in this way, the emissivity of the heating object may be obtained and its surface temperature accurately obtained.
