Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce greatly cross modulation distortion with simple constitution by making the cross mudulation distortion ratio of the 1st amplifier equal to a value obtained by substracting the doubled value of the gain of the 2nd amplifier from the cross modulation distortion ratio of the 2nd amplifier. CONSTITUTION:As for a pair of amplifiers AMP1 and AMP2 cascaded each other, a cross-modulated wave generated by amplifier AMP1 at the prior stage is 180 deg. out of phase with that generated by amplifier AMP2 at the post stage. Attenuator circuit ATT1 connected before amplifier AMP1 controls the input-output level of the whole circuit, and attenuator circuit ATT2 before amplifier AMP2 compensates a difference, between cross modulation distortion ratio IMD1 generated by amplifier AMP1 and the value obtained by subtracting the doubled value of the gain of amplifier AMP2 from cross mudulation distortion ratio IMD2 of amplifier AMP2, to zero. Consequently, the cross modulation distortion can be reduced greatly with simple constitution.
