Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a feedback amplifier with a low distortion factor and high stability, by setting the amount of the phase of a feedback loop nearly equal to a value odd-number greater than the half of wavelength equivalent to an in-use band frequency. CONSTITUTION:Signals from input terminal 1 are inputted to transistor amplifier 5 by way of directional coupler 2, BPF3 and isolator 4. The output of amplifier 5 is led to output terminal 7 by way of directional coupler 6. Part of the output of coupler 6 is branched and then supplied to a feedback circuit composed of variable resistance attenuator 10 and variable phase shifter 11. Here, BPF3, consisting of three stages and less, is set to an in-use frequency and the amount of the phase of the feedback loop is set nearly equal to a value odd-number greater than the half of wavelength equivalent to the in-use band frequency. Adjustments for this setting are made by phase shifter 11. Consequently, distortion is improved in addition to gain stability within the in-use band.
