Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the content of not only NOx but SOx in exhaust gas in sintering of fine iron ore by mixing a NH3 forming substance into sintering rawmaterials; reducing NOx formed to N; recycling exhaust gas from the rear part of a moving line to the front part; and treating final exhaust gas with an alkali soln.
CONSTITUTION: Grate protecting bed ore is mounted on the circulating pellet of a sintering machine, and mixed raw material of iron ore and coke is charged onto the bed ore. At this time, urea or ammonium salt which forms NH3 by heating is added under the bed ore or the raw material. Sintering raw material 4 on the pallet is fired with firing furnace 6 and sintered while being moved to the right. NOx formed in sintering exhaust gas are reduced to harmless N with NH3 formed by decomposition of the urea, etc. Since a little NOx and SOx are contained in exhaust gas from wind boxes GWM at the rear part of the pallet, the gas is recovered and recycled to the front part of the pallet. Finally, exhaust gas is sprayed with water or an alkali soln. to remove residual NOx and SOx by absorption.
