Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize accurate assessment of generating status of static electricity, by disposing static electricity generating part in the flow route, and flow meter and electrode for measuring specific resistance of liquid in the circulation route, so as to know the generation of static electricity, and the flow rate, electric resistance, dielectric constant and other factors to influence the generation of static electricity.
CONSTITUTION: By opening an air vent valve 10, the liquid is introduced from a valve 9, and a proper amount of liquid from the valve 10 is caused to overflow, and the sampling of the liquid is completed by shutting the valves 9, 10. Then the liquid sampled by a pump 3 is circulated in the direction of arrow. Due to this circulation, the liquid flows the inside of the pipe 1 to generate static electricity, which is detected by an ammeter 13. The liquid charged while flowing through the pipe 1, pump 3, and flow meter 4 is sent into the summation tank to be destaticized. The destaticized liquid is then led into the pipe 1 again. At this time, the flow rate is adjuted by a flow rate adjusting valve 5. Also, in the tank 2, the specific resistance of the liquid is measured by a flat plate electrode 6. Thus, whether the generation of static electricity depends on the liquid temperature or not is determined from the heating amount by a heating source 7, so that the expansion due to temperature is lessened by a compensator 8.
