Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a sharp image of rich gradation in high speed, by using 2 sets of devices in the magnetic brush developer of a static latent image and conducting usual sleeve development in the first set and powder clound development in the second set. CONSTITUTION:Two nonmagnetic rotary sleeves 22A, 22B are arranged a little apart from each other in the developing station of static image carrier 1 so as to ratate in the arrow direction. Magentic means for sleeve 22A are formed as a magnetic roller and magnetized poles N2, S2, N2 are arranged each separated at an equal angle near the surface of the roller and most adjacent to the surface of carrier 1. Magnetic means for sleeve 22B are formed as a 4 pole magnetized magnetic roller and poles N2 and S1 are used for scooping and carrying developing powder and poles S3 and S4 are arranged each separated at a predetermined angle theta in the direction reverse to each other from the point most adjacent to the surface of carrier 1 from the magnetic roller.
