Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a good developing range to be obtained by keeping the relations among the moving speed of a photoreceptor, the number of revolutions of a permanent magnet roll and the number of magnetic poles of the permanent magnet roll and the pitch between the magnetic poles of the magnet roll within the range obtained experiment in the developing method involving the use of magnetic toner.
CONSTITUTION: In the relation d=V/N.M(mm) of the moving speed V (mm/sec.) of a photoreceptor, the number of revolutions N (rpm) of a permanent magnet roll and the number of magnetic poles M of the permanent magnet roll with the developing machine using magnetic toner, good developing is obtainable if the value of d is 0.2<d<2.5 (mm). At d<0.2, the evolution of heat by eddy current is high and the flying of toner increases, and at d>2.5, uneven development and the decrease in development density are observed. When the pitch between the magnetic poles of the magnet roll is 5 to 17 mm in the above conditions, good development may be obtained.
