Abstract

PURPOSE: UV light is irradiated onto separators of membrane module in original liquid treating. This prevents clogging of separating tube by deposition of decayed material and microbes, and maintains highly efficient separation.
CONSTITUTION: Original liquid is supplied through feed inlets 21 of a head 2a into separating tubes 1, 1... and simultaneously UV light is irradiated onto the tubes 1, 1.... Permeating water through the tubes 1, 1...is exposed to UV light and thus subjected to sterilizing action, thereby to prevent decaying of nutrition and propagation of microbes even when the permeated water contains nutritious material for microbes. Thus, the process prevents clogging of separating tube 1.1..., mantains high separation efficienc and provides high-quality permeated water in a collecting pan 3.
