Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare bacteriolytic enzyme having broad bacteriolytic spectrum, and useful as food antiseptics, plant pesticides, etc., by culturing bacteria belonging to Bacillus genus and capable of producing β-1,3-glucanase, protease, and lysozyme- analogue bacteriolytic enzymes.
CONSTITUTION: Bacteria belonging to Bacillus genus, and capable of producing β-1,3-glucanase, protease, and lysozyme-analogue bacteriolytic enzymes, e.g. Bacillus circulans MT 2005 (FERM-P No.4289), are aerobically cultured, and the objective bacteriolytic enzyme is separated from the cultured medium. The enzyme composition thus obtained consists of 60W78% of β-1,3-glucanase, 20W30% of protease, and 2W10% of lysozyme-analogue bacteriolytic enzymes. The cultivation medium used is free of glucose. Addition of a nonionic surface active agent to the medium increases the cultivation efficiency, and addition of a protease-inhibitor increases the amount of enzymes they than protease. The cluturing temperature is 25W32°C, esp. 28°C, and pH is 4-8, pref. 5-7.
