Abstract

PURPOSE: In membrane separator, wherein soiled face is cleaned by gas-liquid mixture fluid, a uniform and efficient cleaning is effected by agitatedly mixing the fluid mixture at several places in fluid passage.
CONSTITUTION: In main operation of liquid separation, a passage 120 for a jet pump 12 is closed, and the liquid is fed by pressure through a liquid-pump 11 and a by-pass 13 into a tubular-type membrane separator A. In cleaning operation for the membrane separator A, the by-pass 13 is closed, and the jet pump 12 feeds a gas- liquid mixture into the separator A. Between each unit a, a... of the separator A are inserted mixers 14, which function to break up bubbles even when pressure is reduced and bubbles grow up. As a result, gas-liquid separation is prevented and efficient cleaning of each unit-a is resulted.
