Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to effectively deodorize by a small amount of a deodorizing liquid by a method wherein a foam containing a malodorant gas is formed by a foamable deodorizing liquid and, after moved, defoamed to enhance contact effect of the malodorant gas and a foam membrane.
CONSTITUTION: A malodorant gas G subjected to pretreatment such as washing, pickling or alkali washing pretreatment is introduced into a deodorizing chamber 1 from a supply port 1b. A foamable deodorizing liquid 4 in a storage tank 1c is injected from an injection pore 3a by a pump 9 to preliminarily wet a netlike member 2. When the malodorant gas is passed through the netlike member 2, the deodorizing liquid 4 is converted to a foam B containing the malodorant gas and moved to a defoaming chamber 5 through a duct 8 by a pressure of the succeeding malodorant gas sent by a blower. During this time, sufficient gas-liquid contact is carried out between the malodorant gas and a foam membrane. A defoaming liquid 7 is injected to the foam body descended in the defoaming chamber 5 from an injection pore 6a to carry out gas-liquid separation and a deodorized gas G' is sent out of the chamber from a discharge port 5b and a mixture of the defoaming liquid and the deodorizing liquid is discharged from a valve 18 after stored in a recovery tank 5c.
