Abstract
PURPOSE: A long-lived anticorrosive copper alloy for radiator comprising one or more of Zn, Sn, Sb, and As, Hf or Si, and the remaing Cu in a specific proportion.
CONSTITUTION: The copper alloy contains 25 to 37 wt% Zn, 0.05 to 1.0 wt% Sn, 0.005 to 0.5 wt% one or both of Sb and As, 0.01 to 1.0 wt% Hf or Si, and the remaining Cu. As with the usual copper alloys, the alloy components are added by turn while preventing the oxidation of copper by covering the surface of molten bath with charcoal powder.
