Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture at a low cost a lightweight swash plate type compressor with durability improved by obtaining high-slidability surface through the simple process consisting of making swash plates of high-silicon aluminium alloy, easily making shoes by cold forging, and subjecting said shoes to ionitriding treatment.
CONSTITUTION: This compressor has an appropriate number of cylinder bores 1 at opposite places to each other. The end portions opposite to each other of contactual cylinder blocks 2 are closed by housing 41 and 42 with valve plates 3 provided therebetween. A swash plate 6 is fixed on the driving shaft 5 passed through by the axial center portion of said cylinder blocks 2 so as to be rotatably borne, and fastened by the piston 7, balls 8 and shoes 9 fitted in said cylinder bores 1. Said piston 7 reciprocated through said cylinder bores 1 by the rotational force of said swash plate 6. Further, suction chambers 43 and 44 and discharge chambers 45 and 46 are formed in said housing 41 and 42.
