Abstract

PURPOSE: To assemble easily as well as miniaturize a swash plate type compressor and further minimize its horsepower consumption, by forming a hemisphere part in a shoe and bringing it in sliding contact with a spherical depressed part of a piston.
CONSTITUTION: A shoe 15 consists of a hemisphere part 15a which is engaged and brought in sliding contact with a spherical depressed part 10b of a piston 10, a column part 15b next to the hemisphere part and a backing metal 16 fitted to the bottom of the column part. The bottom outer side of the backing metal can slide on an edge face 5a of a swash plate 5. A hole 17 with an internal diameter at its opening part shorter than that of the bottom is formed in the shoe 15 and filled with fillers such as a felt and the like. Since consumption of horsepower is minimized due to two sliding portions, one between the swash plate 5 and the shoe 15 and the other between the shoe 15 and the piston 10, the length of the compressor in axial direction may be shortened by reducing the gap between the shoe 15 and the spherical depressed part 10b. Utilization of the fillers 18 containing lubricant improves sliding conditions.
