Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain CaO of high quality while saving fuel for calcination by introducing lime slurry raw material supplied form a puddle mixer into an air current carrying dry duct provided with a cage mill after which part of the material pulverized, dried, and separated from the air current is introduced into a calcination furnace and the remainder into the mixer.
CONSTITUTION: Lime slurry raw material is fed from vacuum filter 14 to puddle mixer 15, mixed with dry raw material from shoot 22, stirred, and supplied to cage mill 10. The raw material is then finely pulverized and simultaneously stirred with combustion gas of about 850°C from duct 9 to remove the water contained in duct 13. The dried material is collected by cyclone 19 and distributed to shoots 21, 22 by distribution damper 20. The material from shoot 21 is calcined in calcination furnace 1 with hot combustion gas from burner 2, separated by cyclone 3, fed to packed bed type cooler 5 through shoot 4, and heat exchanged for cold air from fan 6 to recover CaO from discharge damper 8.
