Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain more than two pieces of position information from one pair of conductors by forming at least one conductor in coil loop, and changing the number of turns successively according to a rule providing two or more combinations. CONSTITUTION:The position of a moving object is detected by receiving a signal transmitted from the transmitter attached to the moving object with a inductive radio line laid along the moving passage. The inductive radio pair consists of reference line 3 made from coil loop train having constant number of turns at pitch P, repeated array 30 of coil trains paired with 1, 2, and 3 turns of coil length P showing the first digit of ternary code, and repeated array 31...3n of coil trains becoming larer by three times each successively. The signal level of reference line 3 is compared with each reception signal level by a level discriminator 200'', and the position of the moving object is detected by sensing that the reception signal level in each conductor pair changes in two or more modes.
