Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a control apparatus for a walking mobile farm machine which facilitates the control of the machine by means of an index device for indicating the direction of the control wheels in front of the operator's seat.
CONSTITUTION: In a walking planter equipped with a planting device 8 supported with a lift device at the rear of a travelling car, an index device 18 is provided suspended rotatably at the front end of a bonnet of an engine 4 able to be seen through from the driver's seat of the car 1 running therethrough. The index device 18 is so constructed that a spherical mascot 18a is provided at the upper end thereof while a marker 18b is provided at the center thereof projected horizontally. The lower end thereof is connected in a link at the center shaft 9 of an arm 16 of right and left control wheels through an arm 20 and a connecting rod 21. With such an arrangement, according to the deflection of the steering wheel 5 the marker 18b is changed in a parallel way. Thus, the operator can advance the machine accurately with ease if the control wheels 5 is steered with a wheel 22 in such a manner that the tip of the marker 18b overlaps the mascot 18a.
