Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the performance deterioration such as the gain lowering, the rise of the side lobe and others by forming the hyperboloidal mirror following the feeder horn into an elliptic mirror and also forming the secondary reflector into a special mirror surface respectively. CONSTITUTION:The antenna device consists of the following component parts: feeder horn 1; main reflector 4; non-rotary and symmetric elliptic surface mirror 6 featuring focal points F1 and F1''; rotary and symmetric secondary reflector 7 featuring an elliptic mirror surface of center part focal points F1'' and Fm plus a special mirror surface at the circumference part; equivalent horn 8 which features an image regarding mirror 6 of horn 1, and other parts. The electric wave emitted from point F1 is a stopped-down beam going toward point F1'' in terms of the photo-geometry. In this case, if design parameter t is set to a smaller value than 0.4, aperture diameter D1 of horn 1 can be reduced to decrease the leak power of mirror 6 even though the size D2 of 6 is small. As for the waves of the low frequency band, peripheral regions S1, S2, S1' and S2' are required in order to receive the waves up to a sufficiently low level through reflector 7.
