Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce granulated slag powder with enhanced thermal efficiency by adding wet granulated slag to dry granulated slag obtd. by drying in a usual process, followed by grinding. CONSTITUTION:Apart from feed to dryer 2 by a table feeder at the lower part of hopper 1, wet granulated slag is fed onto blet conveyer 7, dropped, mixed with dry granulated slag of 0.5% water content from dryer 2, and supplied to mill 10 through hopper 9. In order to ensure the heat required to evaporate water contained in the slag, the lowest limit of the temp. of the material in mill 10 should be set to 100 deg.C. The water content (total amt. of water/total wt. of material) of the slag is regulated up to 3%, pref. 1-2.5% at the time of charging into mill 10. Accordingly, cooling water supplied from feed pipe 11 into mill 10 becomes unnecessary and fuel for drying can be saves corresponding to the amt. of the wet granulated slag added.
