Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Onto a sintered body or a sintered body coated on its surface with a powder of a metal, an alloy or a compound there are irradiated beams of a high energy density such as laser light rays, electorn rays or the like. The surface layer of a metal powder or a sintered body is molten by the irradiation of the above described beams, and the surface layer of the sintered body becomes void free and forms a tight layer of a porosity of 0%. Therefore, the mechanical properties of the sintered body such as tensile force, hardness, elongation and the like are remarkably increased.
