Abstract

PURPOSE: The title equipment, designed to adjust the quenching temperature easily and have a high heat exchanging efficiency, wherein an airtight quenching tower having a stoker comprises an inert gas circulation system provided with a heat exchanger and a gas purifier.
CONSTITUTION: Red-hot coke charged into the hopper 2 is slowly dropped to the quenching tower 1, and fed over the stoker 6. The coke is brought into contact with a low-temperature inert gas, which is fed from the gas conduit 7 to under the stoker 6 and rises, quenched and extinquished, then loaded on the coke conveyor 11.
