Abstract
PURPOSE: To realize flaw detection of welded parts of intersecting pipes easily and stably from outside, by providing a support bar equipped with ultrasonic probe through a hole in the central part of profiling gauge, slidably in the axial and rotational direction.
CONSTITUTION: A profiling gauge 9 has a ring-form rotational angle scale 14, and the slinding surface of said profiling gauge 9 and a support bar 3 is marked with vertical direction graduations 15 and an index 16. Therefore, the position of a probe 2 may be always observed from outside. Pipes 1a, 1b are welded in a T-form to make the material being tested 1. The probe 2 is press-fitted from the inside of welded in a T-form to make the material being tested 1. The probe 2 is press-fitted from the inside of welded part 1c of the material 1, and the probe 2 is caused to move in the vertical and peripheral directions from outside by way of support bar 3 to detect flaw by scanning. At the same time, the profiling action is accomplished by a profiling pin 8 attached to the arm 3b projecting from the support bar 8 attached to the arm 3b projecting from the support bar 3 in the direction opposite to the probe 2
