Abstract
PURPOSE: To harden effectively the surface layer without causing the strain and crack, by irradiating the laser to the surface of the sintered product.
CONSTITUTION: For example, the mixed powder of Fe-Cu is molded for the bearing metal to be used under high speed and high load and the prescribed sintering is performed to the molded product. Because the impact hardening or the hardening is performed to the surface with the laser irradiation in this manner, the good surface hardening can be achieved easily and quickly.
