Abstract
PURPOSE:To know the discharge condition of a battery by applying extremely heavier load than the load under normal use of the battery or by charging with extremely large current to observe the change in battery terminal voltage in a very short time. CONSTITUTION:When a measurement start switch 103 is closed, a signal is delivered 0.5 seconds later from an auto-trigger circuit 105 to trigger a timing circuit 106, which causes the terminal voltage of battery being measured 101 to change suddenly. This changing voltage is stored in a sample hold circuit 109. The difference between the output of the sample hold circuit 109 and the terminal voltage of the battery 101 is calculated in a subtraction amplifier circuit 110, of which output is compared with the reference voltage of a reference voltage generation circuit 117 in a comparator circuit 111. And the output of latch circuit 127 tells the difference of terminal voltage of the battery 101 being rapid discharging measurements taken 10 msec later and 5 sec later after initiating discharging of the battery 101. Accordingly, the discharge condition of the battery can be known.
