Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide effecient charge by employing granulated insulators as dielectric in an apparatus for eliminating dust from dust-containing gas while dust- containing gas passes through an air gap in dielectric filled between voltage-impressed electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: In this electrostatic filter, high voltage electrodes 9 connected with a high voltage producer 11 have linear or needle-shaped electrodes with a concentrated electric field. On the other hand, an earth electrode has a ventilative constitution; and dust-containing gas, which holes granulated dielectric and flows in the arrow direction, is electric-charged through multipolar discharge from dielectric 10 near high voltage electrodes to be collected on the surface of dielectric 10 at far points from electrodes 9. To be more specific, granulated dielectric 10, which is held with earth electrodes 8, 8' placed in the middle of a smoke dust 12, is discharged through a valve 19 and got rid of dust adhering to particles with a vibrating sieve 20 to be carried back through a conveyor 21 for reuse
