Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent transmission loss and attain the highly effective collection of dust under a stable corona discharging condition by a method in which compressed air is jetted against dust-collecting electrodes to remove dust adhered to the surface of the electrodes for cleaning. CONSTITUTION:When applying a high voltage to a discharge electrode 7, a corona discharge occurs between the discharge electrode 7 and dust-collecting electrodes 11A and 11B. Gas coming into a polluted gas inlet 4 is passed through a discharge field formed in the gas pathway 6 of a dust collection chamber 2, where the dust present in the gas is electrically charged and collected at the dust collecting electrodes 11A and 11B by means of a Coulomb's force, and clean gas is discharged through the outlet 5 to the outside. The dust collected at the dust collecting electrodes 11A and 11B is shaken down by a dust shaking mechanism 13 in an isolation chamber 3. In short, the dust-collecting electrodes 11A and 11B in the isolation chamber 3 are vibrated by compressed air while passing between compressed air injection nozzles 15A and 15B.
