Abstract

PURPOSE: The position of injection of liquid refrigerant is located at the higher pressure side of the position for injection of oil in a compression working chamber, so that the lower-pressure side is effectively sealed with oil and the high-pressure side is effectively cooled by the refrigerant.
CONSTITUTION: The oil separated by an oil separator 3 is cooled by an oil cooler which is disposed intermediate of an oil passage 15, and is returned, through a control of flow rate by an oil regulating valve 14, to a screw compressor 1. Meanwhile, a part of the refrigerant in a condenser 4 is injected into the compression working chamber of the screw compressor 1 through a refrigerant passage 13 so as to cool the gas and oil in the compressor. The position of injection of the liquid refrigerant is selected to fall within the range of rotation angle of male rotor of between 85° and 130° from the suction point, while the position of injection of oil is selected to fall within the range of between 20° and 60° from the sucking point. As a result, the low-pressure side of the chamber is effectively sealed by the oil, while the high-pressure side of the same is effectively cooled by the liquid refrigerant, so as to improve the performance of the screw compressor 1
