Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an air conditioner, capable of cooling, heating and demoinsturing operation, and at the time of heating operation, whereby it is enabled to carry out demoisturing operation effectively in winter of snowy country when the humidity is high, and to improve efficiency of operation.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of demoisturing operation, four-way valve 13 is set in the same direction as at the time of heating operation, and electromagnetic valve 21 is closed. High-pressure colling gas of caompressor 12 is supplied via the four-way valve 13 into a second indoor heat exchanger 19, where it is condensed with releasing of heat, and pressure is reduced at demoisturing throttle means 20. Then, condensed gas is evaporated at a first indoor heat exchanger 18 and delivered via cooling and heating throttle means 17, 16 into outdoor heat exchanger 14, where cooling liquid not yet evaporated is caused to evaporate, and thereafter this evaporated gas is drawn into compressor 12 via four-way valve 13. Here, said outdoor heat exchanger 14 functions as auxiliary evaporator but it is capable of varying its capacity freely in accordance with the temperature of the open air. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to control the condition of cooling medium on the inlet side of compressor in stable manner under a variety of conditions
