Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the operational efficiency of an air conditioner by providing a sprayer to be changed in the spraying amount according to the circulating amount of refrigerant for widening the adjusting range of the condensing capacity of a condenser and balancing the refrigerating cycle.
CONSTITUTION: When a pole change type compressor 1 is switched over to a bipolar operation, the circulating amount of refrigerant is increased, and the air temperature difference between the entrance and the exit of an evaporator 7 is risen over the set point of a differential switch 14 to be about 8 degrees C. Consequently, a control valve 10 is opened, and minute water drops are sprayed from a spray nozzle 11. In this construction, refrigerant gas of high temperature and pressure introduced into a condenser 2 is cooled not only by an outdoor fan 3 but also by the latent heat of evaporation of the minute water drops sprayed by the spray nozzle 11 for condensation and liquefaction, and the condensing capacity of the condenser 2 is multiplied. The spraying device is thus controlled for widening the adjusting range of the condensing capacity and balancing the refrigerating cycle.
