Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a heat pump system freezer capable of heating operation while defrosting in which an outdoor side heat exchanger is divided into a plurality of units connected in series and an auxiliary change-over valve is opened or closed in response to load to make one set of heat exchangers condenser and the other set of evapolator for alternatively operating them.
CONSTITUTION: When sensing elements 16, 17 mounted respectively on the outdoor side heat exchangers 10, 11 and having a predetermined priority over one another sense frosting, the element 16 opens first only 2-way valve 28 to stop or operate a blower 20 with superlow speed. Thus a portion of high temperature gas from a compressor 1 during heating operatin cycle flows into a port D from a bypass pipe path 15 through the 2-way valve 18 and into the outdoor side heat exchanger 10 which has been so far operated as an evapolator to join heating cycle liquid refrigerant at point G and evaporate in the outdoor side heat exchanger 11. While the sensing element 16 senses the completion of the evaporation to return each portion to the original state, the sensing element 17 operates the heat exchanger 11 in place of same 10.
