Abstract
PURPOSE: Special sheath-core conjugate fibers which are composed of the sheath of high-molecular-weight polymer solution in an oragnic solvent and the core of a specific coagulation liquid are introduced into the coagulation bath that has higher coagulation capability, thereby producing said fibrous hollow films with high separability and water permeability.
CONSTITUTION: The spinning of sheath-core conjugate fibers is conducted by using an acrylonitrile polymer solution in an organic solvent as the sheath component, a 30wt% or lower solution of a solvent with high coagulability as the core component and a 70wt% or higher solution of the solvent as the coagulation bath. The innermost layer of the resulting fibrous hollow films is dense and does not contain substantially any voids with diameter of 500Å or larger, the intermediate layer contains voids of 500Å to 2μ diameter and the outermost layer contains voids 1,000Å to 5μ diameter wherein these voids connect to each other to form network. Further isolating large voids have 5W100μ long diameter and 1W30μ short dismeter open toward the outersurface and stand redially toward the center.
