Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a two-way voltage selection swtiching circuit which is suited to the large current by connecting two pairs of basic elements comprising SCR, diode, FET and the gate current control circuit consisting of the resistance between the AC power sources in parallel. CONSTITUTION:The basic element comprising SCRTH1 and TH2, diodes D1 and D2, bias resistances R1 and R2 plus R3 and R4, FET1 and FET2 for gate current control of SCR, and switch B is connected to AC power source terminals 1 and 2 each in parallel and with the opposite polarity each other. In case the voltage of terminal 1 rises from zero and the positive level to terminal 2, SCRTH1 is made to conduct from terminal 1 through diode D1, resistance R1, the source and the drain of FET, and switch B respectively. No current flows to the right SCRTH2 side due to diode D2, and an accurate ignition is secured for SCRTH1. When the voltage higher than the fixed level is applied between both terminals, the control voltage is limited by the pinch-off of EFT with no ignition given to TH1. The current flows to TH2 when the voltage of terminal 2 is high. And the voltage drop ocrrus only at the conduction of SCR, and accordingly this switching circuit can be applied to the large current.
