Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a photo switch of small driving power by driving the movable mirrors provided at the points where the axes of the optical fibers on the same plane cross by bimorph piezoelectric elements. CONSTITUTION:Light between the optical fibers 1... and 2... are switched by the movable mirrors 5... provided at the points where the respective axes of both fibers 1... and 2... cross on the same plare. When these mirrors 5 are driven by the bimorph piezoelectric elements formed by the piezoelectric bodies 6, 6, of polyvinylidene fluoride provided with electrodes 7, 7, then the mirrors 5 are driven at the smaller electric power as compared to electromagnetic driving or the like because the bimorph elements may be electrically regarded as capacitors. Hence, the photo switch of small power driving and small power consumption is provided.
