Abstract

PURPOSE:To render an electrically conductive liquid ink or an aqueous colloid developer difficult to leak from an electrophotographic photoreceptor repeatedly used, by bonding a spcified photoconductive insulating layer onto a conductive base by baking. CONSTITUTION:Water-repellent photosensitive layer 2 containing a photoconductive inorganic pigment, such as ZnO and a fluoropolymer having a critical surface tension below 20 dynes/cm, such as polytetrafluoroethylene is bonded onto a conductive base 1, such as anodized porous aluminum. Layer 2 is uniformly charged by corona discharge of charging unit 3, and imagewise exposed through exposing unit 4. A static latent image is developed with a developing fluid prepared by dispersing carbon black into an ion-exchanged water using an aliphatic acid-modified epoxy resin in developing unit, and transferred to plain paper in transfer unit 6 to form clear image. Subsequently, layer 2 is repeatedly used after being cleaned in cleaning unit 7.
