Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform emphasis of good phase characteristics by generating preshoot and overshoot through the use of a high frequency emphasis circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Waveform delayed by τ time is generated across the matching resistance 4-5 of line 4-5 through the collector of the transistor 4-2 of a high frequency emphasis circuit free from phase distortions provided with the delay line 4-5 and the line 4-5 by the application of video pulse signal. On the other hand, the signal having been amplified by a transistor 4-4 through a resistance 4-3 reflects at the line 4-5 from the resistance 4-6 and the waveform delayed by 2τ time is also generated in the resistance 4-6. These waveforms are combined and preshoot and overshoot are symmertically applied to become the emphasized waveform of flat and good phase characteristics, which is then applied to an FM modulating circuit. The deemphasis after the FM demodulation is also well accomplished in a similar manner in a high frequency reduction circuit.
