Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to extract easily a rectangular wave of a frequency twice greater than that of an input rectangular wave, by inputting a 90 deg.-out-of-phase rectangular wave to an exclusive-OR element. CONSTITUTION:Original signal 1 is waveform-shaped by waveform shaping circuit 2 into a 50%-duty rectangular wave. To one input terminal of exclusive-OR C, the 50%-duty rectangular wave is applied as it is. To the other input terminal, it is applied by way of the integral network consisting of C1 and R1. The rectangular wave is converted by the integral network into a triangular wave, which is inputted to the exculsive-OR element. The triangular wave operates on the logic circuit as a rectangular wave which is 90 deg. out of phase with the original rectangular wave, so that a 50%-duty rectangular wave of a frequency twice greater than that of the input wave can be obtained at the output side.
