Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase separation ratio of solid from liq., by increasing the ratio of reduction of space length, which is caused by the advancing of a piston, between the upper part and the bottom of the pressure vessel at the central part of the vessel so as to increase solid-separating ratio at central part.
CONSTITUTION: The length of the space formed between the top end of a piston 3 and the bottom cover 4 is M at the central part of the cylindrical pressure vessel, and N near the inside surface of the cylinder wall 2, N being larger than M. Consequently, when the piston 3 is lowered by ΔL, the reduction ratio of the space length at the central part of the pressure vessel is ΔL/M, which is larger than the reduction ratio ΔL/N at the peripheral part 2 of the cylinder. Hereby solid/liq.mixed state in the pressure vessel is broken first at the central part, and the liq. squeezed out at the central part is mixed successively with the liq. contained in the adjacent solid/liq. mixt., and further squeezed out to the front of a filter of small x, then pressed out of the filter, thus the solid-separation ratio in the vessel is increased uniformly on the average.
