Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a modified polyester filament yarn having improved color and dyeability, by spinning a copolyester prepared from a polyalkylene oxide having specific degree of coloration after heat treatment and molecular weight added during the polycondensation.
CONSTITUTION: 3W7 wt.% of a polyalkylene oxide, e.g. polyethylene oxide, having a degree of coloration (APHA) after heat treatment at 175°C for 1hr ≤ 30 and a number-average molecular weight of 300W4,000, preferably 600W3,000, is copolymerized with a polyester during the polycondensation. The copolyester thus obtained is spun into a filament yarn.
