Abstract

PURPOSE: A spinneret having orifices, each of which is made by providing arc- shaped slits on a circle circumference, is used to effect spinning to produce hollow fiber having projections inside the almost round hollow part and high bulkiness, because the hollow part is not flattened even by mechanical crimping.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic polymer such as polyethylene terephthalate is melt-spun using a spinneret having one or more arc-shaped slits on a circle circumference 1 and a round or modified orifice 2 at a position surrounded with the arc slits to produce hollow fiber that has the almost round hollow part C and the projection B from the inside wall of the fiber. The hollow degree of the resultant fiber is 15W40%, preferably 20W30% and the modification degree of the hollow part is 5W 25%, preferably 10W20%.
