Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a vehicle speed controlling system, in which feed-forward control for compensating the running resistance or grade resistance is combined with feedback control for exerting a torque corresponding to deviation of the vehicle speed, whereby it is enabled to eliminate steady state error from the control system.
CONSTITUTION: In running-resistance calculating circuit 8, running resistance fR is calculated from the vehicle speed obtained as output signal of speed detector 3. Position of the vehicle is detected by integrating the vehicle speed in integrator 9, and grade resistance fG at a predetermined position is calculated from the output of integrator 9 by grade-resistance calculating circuit 10. Further, sum (f) of torque fP proportional to deviation of the vehicle speed afforded from amplifier 5, running resistance fR and grade resistance fG is made in adder 11, and torque instruction (f) is given to notch selecting means 6. With such an arrangement, torque instruction fM free of steady state error can be afforded from driving means 7.
