Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the fluctuations of reproduced output which occur along with an increase in recording density and assure reliability over a long period of time by depositing MgO.SiO2 layers on the gap opposing faces of pairing core materials then contacting the opposing faces. CONSTITUTION:The gap opposing faces of ferrite cores are mirror-finishied by lapping, polishing, etc. Next, MgO.SiO2 are deposited by high frequency sputtering so as to become the thickness equal to an expected gap width on at least one of the pairing cores. Both cores 5, 6 having been deposited with MgO.SiO2 4 are bonded by using glass 7 with a film 4 being held sandwiched as a spacer. This enables reprocution operation to high frequency signals to be obtained and enables the magnetic head of high reliability for a long period of time to be obtained.
