Abstract
775,050. Magnetic recording apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 4, 1955 [April 5, 1954], No. 9765/55. Class 40 (2). A method of manufacturing magnetic records, comprises recording firstly the low frequencies in conjunction with a high-frequency bias current, and superimposing on said record the high frequencies in conjunction with a bias current smaller than that used for the low frequencies. The method is carried out by means of a magnetic head, Fig. 2, having a core with two gaps, the low-frequency signals being applied at one gap by means of a coil 6 to produce a record layer 3, and the high-frequency signals being applied at the other gap by means of a coil 7 to produce a record in the layer 3 and layer 2.
