Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the detecting accuracy of the next trial by changing the set value of an amplitude monitoring circuit when the detected waves of ultrasonic pulses are shifted forward or backward. CONSTITUTION:There are provided a receiving amplifier 7 for ultrasonic pulses propagating in a pipe 10, a malfunction monitoring circuit 31, an amplitude monitoring circuit 40 having two monitor voltages, a mistrigger detecting circuit 41 for comparing the output signals R of a propagation time difference detecting circuit with a preset voltage thereby to generate signals F in accordance with the compared results and a malfunction monitoring output W, and a delay compensating circuit 42 for delaying and imparting the output signals to the circuit 8. In accordance with the signals F, the set value of the circuit 40 is altered to the other amplitude monitoring voltage, and the delay time of the circuit 42 is controlled. As a result, it is possible to effect the accurate detection even if the received pulses are shifted forward of backward from the standard value.
