Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a snow rake phenomenon of a point, by melting snow around a rail as a result of heating the rail with the terrestrial heat.
CONSTITUTION: The device consists of a liquid bath 4, which is embedded in a ground and in which a liquid 7 is storages, a heat pipe 6 which is immersed in the liquid 7 and whose one end pierces through a side wall of the liquid bath 4 and is embedded in a ground, and a heat transfer plate 5 which is secured at a rail 1 and whose end part is immersed in the liquid 7. The terrestrial heat generated in the earth can be transferred to the heat transfer plate 5 and the rail 1 via the liquid 7 in the liquid bath 4 located on the way by the use of the aforesaid heat pipe 8, and in the case of a snowfall, snow around the rail can be melted without giving vibration of the rail to the device. And thus, the rail can be prevented from the occurrence of snow rake phenomenon at the time when a point is switched over and prevented from the phenomenon without doing any maintenance work and using any energy for a long time.
