Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible detection of the rotating directions, rotating angles and number of revolutions of the magnetic field to be measured if it is a revolving magnetic field by disposing at least two of plural ferromagnetic material magnetoresistance effect elements at angles differring mutually to any of 0°, 90°, 180° and 270°.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic-field-detecting element 120 consists of a substrate 121 which is composed of a glass plate or the like, MR elements 1, 2 and 3 such as of iron, Ni or other which are created on the substrate through thin film techniques, terminals 11, 12 and 21, 22 and 31, 32 which are composed of high conductivity conductor such as gold, copper or other and a ceramic package 122 which fixes the substrate 121. The terminals 104, 105 and 106 as well as the bonding pads 101, 102, 103 connected to the similar terminals not illustrated in opposition to the abovementioned terminals and the terminals of the MR elements are mutually wire-bonded. Sence currents i1, i2 and i3 are supplied from the terminals in order to detect the respective electric resistances of the MR elements and the MR elements are so disposed that the angles θ12, θ23 and θ31 that the i1, i2 and i3 mutually assume differ from 0°, 90°, 180° and 270°.
